The preferred location for Mod Organizer is the game folder. It then automatically detects the game, if it is supporting it. If you place instance of MO to \SteamApps\common\Skyrim, then it will detect all content from your Skyrim\Data folder and present itself as Skyrim Mod Organizer.

Just switched from NMM to MO, but I cannot for the life of me get it to log in. Check the Workarounds tab and make sure that MO emulates the current version of Nexus Mod Manager. Not long ago, an european law forced nexus to change their protocols, idk the details but since then, MO1 has trouble communicating with nexus. But when I try to run it I get a pop-up saying that I am missing a file then it ctd. The file is C:\Program Files(x86)\Mod Organizer\profiles\Default\modlist.txt. When I went to check, it was correct. The modlist.txt part wasn't there. Is there a way to get or restore that file so I can use MO? Did I download a faulty copy?
