.bin could be anything. It's a generic file extension supported by most emulators/platforms. All of my Genesis games have the .gen extension, I guess if you're not sure what platform a ROM is for, you'll just have to search the name of the game or load it up and check, I would suggest renaming the .bin files to a more fitting file extension
